Description
Years ago when I lived in Houston I went to a yard sale. Though not a collector I had bought 2 wood signs several years earlier that were hand made in the 70's. So I figured if I had 3 I could say I was a collector. The seller told me where it came from and when I got home I wrote it down and attached. Well, I'm downsizing so now listing. Did a Google search and David Levine opened his 1st store in New York City at the corner of Christopher and Bleecker and shortly thereafter opened his 2nd store in Providence on Hope Street. It's 20 x 4-1/2 x 1-1/2". At each end is a pot belly stove. Wear to the edges of this soft wood. 1 eye hook is bent out of shape. The "O" was carved out a bit off-center. The article I read said that the Talking Head musicians David Byrne, Chris Frantz. and Tina Weymouth worked at the Providence store in the early 1970's. Later they were founding members of the new wave band Talking Heads.Payment
