• Condition: The bowl is free of chips, cracks and fleabites. The iridescent coating is excellent with great coloring on the interior and exterior. The stretch finish is deep on the interior. There is one enclosed air bubble which while common is worth noting. The glass is clear and free of cloudiness with a strong glow under UV light.
• Detailed Description:
This listing is for an Antique - Vintage, Diamond Straight Side Bowl in Shimmering Green with Iridescent Stretch. Shimmering Green is the trade name for Diamond's light green stretch glass bowls and is often called Florentine Green (Fenton's green stretch color). Diamond introduced it's Stretch glass lines circa 1916 and presumably continued it into the late 1920's if not till it's closure in 1931. The bowl has a smooth shape with straight flared rim and snap collar construction. The iridescent coating, sometimes called Carnival, is very good on the interior with rich purples, golds and greens with stretch effect and light on the exterior with mostly golds showing through. It's a beautiful piece of antique stretch glass.
