    The Amazing !!!!! Garcia ' Acoustic Guitar ' Cover Photo & Feature-Article : " Jerry Garcia : " There Are No Wrong Notes "... right smack-dab during the Garcia & Kahn Acoustic Era !!! ... July of '85 !!!!!
Garcia Fans !!!  Offered here is an Original July 1985 Issue of " Frets Magazine ! " featuring an Amazing !! Cover-Photo of the Grateful Dead front-man himself ... Jerry Garcia !!!  And better yet, he's even Rockin' an Acoustic Guitar ! ... and a Cheshire Cat Grin too, naturally !!  And all of this smack dab during the tail-end of the Fabulous ! Garcia & Kahn Acoustic-Duo Era !  At least to my humble Dead Fan ears ... some of the Best Acoustic Music Ever Played Live !  In my book, this guy is the King of Rock 'n Roll !!!  And this particular period ( pre-(post) Summer Tour '86, basically ) - is one of ( if not the ! ) most exciting-developmental periods of Garcia as a Guitar Player -  of All-Time.  Most Fans obviously disagree with me, but in my opinion - it's fact ... as he was doing it all !  And doing it all like nobody had still ! ever done it before.  I go through my phases, yes - like any good Deadhead does, but right now - and lately ... I'm getting close to certain ( well, pretty much already-there. ) in my belief that 6/30/85 might have been one of, if not the most red-hot Grateful Dead Show of  All-Time .  For the Band as a whole, I'll give it an 8.5+ - but, for Garcia as a player - and the fret board Master, and flat-out Genius ! ... I'll deliver him a score of 10, or maybe even an 11 - on that mind-blowing Maryland night.  And that's on a scale of only 1 to 10 ! Simply Lightning-Hot ! on the frets that day ( on Tiger, naturally ... ), and pretty much setting the modern standard of how a Guitar simply cannot be played any better.  And my point here ... this Issue takes place just the month following - in July 1985 !  This is Garcia's time, no doubt at all.  The Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band Era was right around the corner, and unfortunately - Jerry had a few little problems in between, well kind of big ones - I suppose in reality.  Which is a place that I myself seldom like to think on.  Busted in Golden Gate Park in Late '85, and into a diabetic coma following the '86 Summer Tour - to the point where he actually had to ' re-learn ' how to play a guitar. Amazing, but a true fact.  The fact is ... just look at his shirt on the Cover of this Frets Magazine !!?!  Whoa ?!!  And that's about all I'm going to say about that ' subject '.   Safe to say this ' Cover ' kinda slipped by the Frets Magazine Editor ??!  But after all ... it is the Mid-'80's ! - or, at least so I suppose.  Unreal, I mean really.  So, hopefully you know this story, behind he story ?  Will leave this topic right here & now ...  Well, to me, this is one of the most vital Guitar Playing articles of all-time, and that includes many ! that I've read by Jerry.  At least for me, as a life-long player myself - both Electric & Acoustic.  Just listen to how this feature article is advertised, and you tell me ! >>> " Jerry Garcia : " There Are No Wrong Notes "... The guiding light of the Grateful Dead contrasts his acoustic solo style with his electric licks, recalls his days as a bluegrass banjo fanatic, and talks about the challenge of his acoustic duo gigs with bassist John Kahn.  Wow, my fellow Fans ... all I can really say is - Wow !  I hope this magazine / article forever changes your playing & perspective in a ' Grate ! ' way - just the way that it has for me, for years now.  Rock & Roll !! ... Enjoy !!!!!
